Doesn't time fly

Hello again. Sorry it's been so long since we last let you know about the goings on at Adapt Design. We are happy to report it's been a very busy year, looking after all our lovely clients and nurturing new ones. And before you know it, it's December, where did this year go? There have been some very exciting developments, one of which is taking the giant step into the world of Apps. And we're doing it in style but mum's the word for the moment. What we can say is, it's a game! So without further ado, and in no particular order, here are some snippets of what we've been up to since we were last in touch.

Christmas closing dates

As you know it's the industry tradition to close over the Christmas period so we will be closed from 12 noon on Christmas Eve until 9am on Thursday 2nd January, 2014. Please note that myself and Sue will be away from Monday 23rd December until Wednesday 8th January for a well deserved holiday in the sun.

Christmas works do

An afternoon and night on the tiles awaits us. We've been working our little backsides off so we are closing the office for a well earned afternoon off, letting our hair down from 1pm on Friday 13th December.

Ace Cleaning

Cleaning up on website design

Launched this week Ace Cleaning now sport a brand new website. An established company like Ace Cleaning inevitably has plenty to shout about but if we're honest cleaning isn't the most glamorous of subjects. So we designed and built a website that is fun to use and more importantly totally different from all the other cleaning companies on the island. The expandable website works a treat with the swiping nature of iOS devices. No need to keep going to the top navigation bar, simply expand, read, swipe and move on to the next section. Clean and effective just like their cleaning services!
Trinity Kitchens

Now we're cooking on gas

After presenting at a breakfast club meeting Jane from Trinity Kitchens and Bedrooms asked if Adapt Design could help them bring some life into their website. We arrange to meet at their showrooms in (no clues for guessing) Trinity, to get a feel for what they were all about. I have to admit I didn't realise they were so big. Their previous website lacked eye catching imagery so it was important to include galleries of their collections so people can get a feel for the kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms they stock. 95% of their business comes from referral so they must be doing something right.

Tropical Tanning

Rays or sprays? You decide

Tropical Tanning has been in business since 1999 and they were curious to see what we could do to give their website a new lease of life. We paid a visit to their studio in Don Street, took some photos and got to work with colour. It now has a warm glow about it sporting brighter colours and more information about sunbeds, spray tans and products. The only thing we couldn't change was the logo, but we're learning to live with it.

David Benest

The abstract world of law

In the last issue of Space you may remember we showed you the new identity for David Benest Law. Well now they have a presence online. David Benest likes bright abstract images so it was handy that one of his friends is keen on abstract photography. She gave us access to her gallery of photos and we picked images that complimented each other. The website is bright, clean and simple, shaking off the traditional design palette usually given to law firms.

Trinity Kitchens

No ordinary gym. This is personal

Ben Murray of Box in Business has recently started up BB Fitness for personal training. And with our help he more than halved his start up costs. He had been quoted, in our opinion, ridiculous prices to design a logo, stationery, website, social media graphics and general marketing collateral. A friend of his, who so happens to use our services, pointed Ben in our direction. To cut a long story short, Ben loves his new identity Adapt Design created and is more than happy with the massive saving he made. It just goes to show you don't have to pay the earth to get good design. If we say so ourselves!
Wetwheels Jersey makes the CIM best brand short list

Wetwheels Jersey is run by a group of volunteers, myself being one of them. And Adapt Design continue to provide services on a very much reduced charity rate to help build a brand to shout about. Wetwheels is the brain child of Geoff Holt, an ex-professional yachtsman, paralysed in a swimming accident in 1984. It was on a trip to Jersey that Geoff and Andrew Le Seelleur of Le Tournoi met and it got them thinking ... Jersey would really benefit from a Wetwheels. But what is Wetheels? It's a catamaran powered by twin outboard motors, specifically designed to allow access for people in wheel chairs. It's an amazing piece of kit and available for anyone to use. So how did we do at the CIM awards? Well unfortunately we got beaten by a bus company! Never mind. Better luck next time, we keep saying to ourselves. At least everyone that goes on Wetwheels comes back to land with a winning smile, and that's what it's really all about.

JTC Group just can't stop growing

We have been working with JTC Group for some time now and as they keep growing, so does their workload for us. We are always up for a challenge and make sure the tightest deadlines are pulled out of the bag. The majority of the work we currently produce for them is for internal purposes and their ‘Welcome’ newsletter (aimed at new starters within the team) is just one such item that we turn around VERY quickly for them.

A calendar that gives the bare facts

Our assistance was also required to produce a ‘cheeky’ calendar for JTC Jersey Wanderers Football Club – thankfully not in the modeling capacity! You should get the gist of what it’s all about from the image but for those of you who want a closer look, you can get your hands on a copy for £10 with proceeds being donated to the Good Companions Club.

Advent Calendar

Advent Calendar 2013 back by popular demand

We had a great response to the 2012 Advent Calendar, and we've had loads of clients asking if we were going to repeat it. Well we couldn't refuse so keep your eyes peeled on your inbox in the next few days. There's a prize fund of £354.75 up for grabs. We must be mad!! But you're worth it. Remember, prizes are on a first come first served basis.
